An Ending and A Beginning
It's been a while since I've written. It is very hard getting used to a 40 hour a week job, when you've been out of work for 2 1/2 years. Today was my last official day at the bank, and Monday will be my first full time day at NASA. I thnk that I will like this job very much, though the commute is more than I've had to do in 10 years. If I leave early enough in the morning it only takes me twenty minutes to get to work. I still haven't experienced the commute home, as I have been working at the bank in the afternoon, which is only about 10 minutes from my house.
This is still a good move. It's very hard to get into NASA, and most people do not leave after getting in. They seem to be a very tight community. I'm exhausted, but am still on the run. I had to go to Costco earlier to get the food for the Young Eagles event tomorrow at Reid-Hillview. Two hundred hot dogs, 100 bags of chips, and 100 sodas. I can't believe hubby forgot to get the food. Tonight I still have to print out about 100 copies of the registration forms, and try to get the old laptop going so I can print out the certificates at the event. It is usually alot of hard work, and we average about 80 kids flown for the day, but it's well worth it when you see the faces of these kids after they get out the planes.
As to knitting, I haven't had much time to knit at all, with using my lunch hour to drive from one job to the other. And then coming home and having to do all the things I didn't get to do in the afternoon, now that I am working full time. It's going to take some getting used to. But starting Monday, I will probably knit on my lunch hour, since I won't have to drive anywhere. I still am working on The Chevron sweater. And I completely missed the Lunch Time Knitters today. I was rushing to the bank at lunch cuz we were having a pot luck on my last day.
