I'm at a stand still when it comes to my knitting. I have so many things I want to knit, yet haven't found the time or energy to start anything. I just got the yarn in to start my sister-in-laws sonnet. She really liked mine, and especially liked the lower neckline. I got some wool-ease in peacock for her. She's a 2nd grade school teacher, and I wanted something she could wear out on yard duty, that she wouldn't worry about having to hand wash, such as the Maya I made mine out of.
I also really like the Victoria Tank in the Summer Interweave Knits, and I have a really soft, denimy like pink cotton to use with it. I did a swatch and it works to the same gauge. My problem is not having the time to sit and pay attention to it, so it took me like 5 days to do a 4 x 4 swatch in the vine lace. I figure at that rate it will take me a couple of years to finish the tank. And I just bought a really nice pair of beige silk slacks and jacket which would look great with the vine tank underneath it.
And then my daughter saw a really pretty lace poncho in Papaya's last week, and asked if I could make one for her. I do have some really pretty pink lace weight yarn but I am not sure how much I would need to make a ponch. I figure I would make one large retangle, and then cast on one end sideways, and knit a small retangle and join to the other end. Does that make sense? and then put an edging around the whole thing.
My nephew turns two on the 20th, and I will be going to his party out of town. Ususally this is a good knitting time for me. But, weather-permitting, hubby will be flying his bi-plane, so I will have to drive the rest of the family. Darn.
