Purls and Lace

Just some thoughts on my day, my knitting, and life in general

Home again, home again, jiggity jig....

We're back from our trip up the coast to Washington, and thanks to all the knitlisters who gave me great ideas for yarn shops along the way. In our first stop in McMinnville, OR, the yarn shop in town was complete closed, and looked like it had gone out of business, paper on the windows, and nothing inside the store. Sorely, disappointed. Then on to Port Townsend, WA, where there were actually two yarn shops. I bought three sizes, 1, 2, and 3, of the Addi 12" circulars at Twisted Ewe Yarn Shop. It was a nice little shop, but the young lady in the store was not very talkative and didn't seem to be too knowledgeable. I wasn't thrilled with the store. But then, the next day I found Diva's Yarn, and absolutely loved the store. I bought three skeins of Kureyon and started the Booga Bag immediately. In fact, I have already finished it, and it's ready for felting. On the way, home we stopped in Brookings, OR to visit friends, and I was able to find the Opal Distributor, who sells her yarn out of a candy store. I bought two skeins of Opal, in Southwest, and Brasil, and have already started a pair of socks out of the Southwest. Pictures to come soon...
